Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, Anarchists!

It is the time of year to give thanks. I know there is a lot of negativity out there this year, but it is especially important in times like this to take stock of what you are thankful for in your life. I am thankful to every commenter and reader who visits this site and helps to keep this amazing community going.

Whether you are celebrating with friends, family, or think it's a yam sham, wishing all of you a wonderful day. And if you made a bear, undo it!

There will be the shorter "weekend schedule" on Friday (as well as Saturday and Sunday), and back to our regularly scheduled programming on Monday.

XOXO,
Outtie

Blind Gossip Blind Item - A Brief Explanation of a Brief Marriage

We’ll keep this explanation as brief as this actress’ most recent marriage.

Why is she now separated from her husband? Drugs. Not him. Her.

Yes, we’ve told you about her and her habits before.

If there are any pill or powder manufacturers looking for a new brand ambassador… we’ve got just the actress for you!

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Busty and Giggly

This acting couple is currently working thousands of miles away from each other. The wife has begged the husband to come visit her on set. He keeps making excuses and saying he is too busy.

A week or two ago, he was busy, all right.

"He was having dinner with this very busty and giggly woman in a dark corner of [a hotel restaurant]. He was trying hard not to be noticed. They were sitting next to each other and holding hands. After dinner, she headed toward the elevator, presumably to go to her room. He took care of the bill (in cash, good tip), then headed for the elevators a few minutes after her. I heard later that he spent the night."

We doubt Wifey would find his activities funny.

Gwen Stefani Still Talking About Heartbreak

Gwyneth Paltrow is on the December cover of Marie Claire to promote her new holiday album. Here's what she had to say in the accompanying interview:

ON WHAT HEARTBREAK TAUGHT HER:

“What I learned was that my heartbreak was supposed to happen, that it was my purpose to write about and share my story. I met at least 50 to 100 people before each show on my tour and got to hear that my truth and my story translated, and I feel very lucky and honored knowing that."

ON FINDING SPIRITUALITY:
“…Spiritual exercise got me somewhere. Some people like to meditate, do yoga, or just take quiet time, but for me–instead of how you talk to yourself, you pray. You surrender and ask for guidance. It’s not all about you.”

ON LIFE WITH BLAKE SHELTON—RECENTLY NAMED PEOPLE’S "SEXIEST MAN ALIVE"—AND HOW THEY SPEND THEIR TIME ON SHELTON’S RANCH IN OKLAHOMA:
“It’s very tribal. Blake has a sister, she comes with her kids. We cook and get muddy and dirty. There are ATVs. Being a mother of three boys, it’s kind of the perfect place. Everything is real now, whereas before, things didn’t seem so real.”

ON WHAT’S SHE INTERESTED TO DO NEXT IN MUSIC:
“I would love to do something like [write a musical], just be a part of a writing thing, because that confidence has come back now, and I know I have something to offer. It used to be such a stress; there was so much doubt in me–now it’s like, Well, just go and write a song.”

Blind Gossip Blind Item - The Emotional Wreck

This celebrity is in serious financial trouble!

She thought she had another twenty years of earning power ahead of her, but that plan was cut short when she ticked off all the wrong people.

"She is acting confident in public, but she is an emotional wreck over having no income. She has too high a percentage of her net worth (over eighty percent) tied up in real estate. She’s fighting against advice to sell the house she just bought it because she is in denial and thinks that if she just waits, she will have a big comeback. I don’t know if she’s going to listen to the advice or not!"

Financial insecurity is no laughing matter.

Emilia Clarke Talks Travels

Emilia Clarke is on the December/January cover of Harper's Bazaar. Here are some highlights from her accompanying interview:

On India:
“It's this epic story: My grandmother was colonial Indian, and it was a big old family secret because her mum had an affair with someone in India. She would wear makeup to make her skin look white. She loved India more than she loved England. Fuck, yeah. I love that part of me—I’m like one-eighth Indian.”

On Italy:
“People in Italy let you know how they feel. I like that I don’t need to guess. There’s something so addictive about their personalities.”

On her love life:
“You’d love to believe there is just one...There is ‘the one’ for particular parts of your life—you change as you get older. So when I was in my teens, there was ‘the one’ for my teens, for sure, and then, you know, there’s ‘the one’ for the next time of your life. There’s this Buddhist philosophy that says you can only really understand yourself through your interactions with other people...I think in the early days I second-guessed everyone. I mean, I do that in life anyway, but especially with fame and becoming successful, and strangers knowing you more than your circle of friends, I would worry about what people thought of me. Then you get to a point where you’re like, ‘You know what? I’m okay.’ ”

Paramore: Fake Happy [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

Politically Incorrect 11/21/17

What's going on in Washington DC today?

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Incredibly Jealous Is Incredibly Fake

This multi-hyphenate always has to give you the impression that she is desirable to men.

On a previous movie, we told you that she was just pretending to date her much younger costar. Sure enough, after the movie promos ended, she completely ghosted him.

She is never without a boyfriend or a husband. Even when she has a boyfriend a husband, she wants you to think that other men want her, so she will overlap rumors about how she is dating one but being chased by another.

Of course, when she is confronted, she plays coy, but the message is always clear: All. Men. Want. Her!

We’re now telling you that the current rumor – that she has gotten too close to her younger male costar on her latest movie and that her current athlete boyfriend is incredibly jealous – is also fake.

Who is spreading the rumor?

She is!

So desirable.

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Eye Rolling Blow

Which young, dark-haired female singer seemed sober for the cameras but consumed too much of everything at an AMA after party?

"She was definitely drinking and doing bumps of blow. Somebody else said that she was also popping some pills (but I didn’t see that). She was really loud and was stumbling all over the place. Then she just sat down on the sofa and her eyes rolled back and she kind of passed out. I thought it was a little scary how she just went from one extreme to the other. Who passes out after doing coke? I was gonna call for help but then a couple of guys picked her up and carried her off and said she’d be fine. Everybody else acted like it was normal."

Yep. Perfectly normal for her.

Not Katy Perry.

Armie Hammer Talks Double Standards

Armie Hammer recently sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote his new film Call Me By Your Name. Here are some excerpts from that interview:

On wife Elizabeth:
"It was one of those lightning-strikes moments," says Hammer. Elizabeth had a boyfriend at the time, and Hammer was "aggressively not looking." So for three years they were "just friends, which was incredibly liberating," says Hammer. "It was like, 'I don't have to impress you. I'm going to tell you everything. I'm going to tell you if I slept with somebody. If I took drugs.' We became closer, until one day I said, 'You have to break up with your boyfriend so we can start dating.'"

On growing up in the Cayman Islands:
"I definitely wasn't like, 'This is how everyone grows up.' We got to live in amazing places. We had great things, toys, stuff like that. We would drive around in really nice cars — but at the same time, if we rolled down the window, my mom would be like, 'You're wasting air conditioning!' ...You can't hide behind anonymity. You have to be nice to everybody, or else you get a reputation. Everybody was multiracial. There was a lot of mixing. So I was always 'the white boy.' "

On double standards:
"There was another person in the industry, who had a competing film for the Academy Awards, who decided to release all of the phone records and information [about Nate Parker when Birth of a Nation was released]. I've been told who did it — by several people." Nate had the stuff in his past, which is heinous and tough to get beyond. I get that. But that was when he was 18, and now he's in directors jail. At the same time, the guy who went and won an Academy Award has three cases of sexual assault against him (Casey Affleck). And [Parker] had one incident — which was heinous and atrocious — but his entire life is affected in the worst possible way. And the other guy won the highest award you can get as an actor. It just doesn't make sense. I'm not saying Nate should not have been in trouble. I'm saying that they got in different levels of trouble. And that's the disparity. It's like there are two standards for how to deal with someone who has this kind of issue in their past, you know?"

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Under 100

This actress first got her start in popcorn films in the 1990s. She really was a classic, All-American beauty with a flare for comedic roles.

Her weight has always fluctuated. Right now she is very thin. Someone asked her a couple of weeks ago how much she weighs now. She was a bit vague and simply said, “under 100.” When the person expressed concern, our actress argued that it was the right weight for her because whenever she weighs more than 100, her face looks too fat.

She is 5’5″ tall.

The Great British Bake Off's Paul Hollywood and wife Alex are splitting after 20 years of marriage, reports Page Six. The couple released the following statement: “It is with sadness that we have decided to separate. Our focus continues to be the happiness of our son, and we would ask the press and public to allow us privacy as a family during this very difficult time.” The couple previously separated in 2013 after Hollywood had an affair with his US Bake Off co-star Marcela Valladolid.

Tori Spelling Heads Back to Court

Page Six reports that Tori Spelling is headed back to court, where she will have to “bring all information on her assets because she blew off paying a $220,000 judgment she owes.” This stems from an unpaid loan to Citi National Bank in 2016, not the giant Am Ex bill that she's still dodging. If Spelling blows off this hearing, she will be arrested for contempt of court.

Blind Gossip Blind Item - You Are Pissing Him Off

Certain talk show hosts are really pissing off this actor!

He is professionally obligated to do interviews to market his movie. Talk show segments are supposed to be scripted. A producer sits down with him ahead of time to go over everything (e.g. what questions he’s going to be asked, which anecdotes he’s going to tell, which topics are off limits).

"The reason he’s pissed is that some hosts are going waaay off script. His publicist rehearsed the answers in advance with him, but the hosts keep asking him more and more probing questions. He feels like he’s on trial."

So, will he walk off the set the next times that happens? Nah.

"He knows that would make him look worse. He can’t leave. So the plan is for him to simply repeat his canned answer with a concerned look (“Like I already said…”) and run out the clock until the interview’s over."

Poor guy. This is all so stressful, and he can’t even send in anyone else to bat for him!

The Hollywood Reporter's Actress Roundtable

The Hollywood Reporter recently gathered Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Mary J. Blige, Jessica Chastain, Allison Janney and Saoirse Ronan for a roundtable interview. Here is an excerpt:

Let's rip the Band-Aid off. Headlines in Hollywood have been all about instances of alleged harassment. Some people believe the entertainment industry will never be the same.

JESSICA CHASTAIN I hope the entertainment industry will never be the same. If you look at Louis B. Mayer and Fatty Arbuckle and Jack Warner, if you read Shirley Temple's book, you find out what happened to her when she was a child — there is a history of abuse against women in our industry, and it's never been addressed. I'm devastated by all the stories that have come out because it's heartbreaking, but at the same time I feel hopeful because we're not ignoring it anymore.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE The big misconception, though, is that this is just in the entertainment industry. Once again, the entertainment industry is kind of the stage on which you can see the inner workings of problems that are all over the world. If a flight attendant comes forward about a pilot, it doesn't end up in the news because nobody knows about it. That doesn't mean that there's less sexual abuse going on anywhere else in the world, in any other place of work. But fortunately, we're starting the conversation now.
EMMA STONE There's a really amazing article Brit Marling wrote that was essentially saying, if women were paid equally in every industry, this would not be occurring. Women have had to fit into these different boxes for so many years just to get work, and if these things are happening and they bring them to people's attention, they are much more likely to be fired or to be dismissed than a man in a more powerful position. So it's a huge conversation for our industry, but I would hope that this is only the tipping point for us to discuss equal pay for equal work for women across every industry.

(Following the publication of this Roundtable discussion, Stone added: "After seeing our Roundtable conversation in print I realized I need to elaborate my oversimplified response to part of the issue of harassment being pay inequality. While true to a big extent, I don't think my response was as clear as I hoped it would be. Equal pay clearly wouldn't fix ALL of the issues surrounding abuse of power, violating behaviors and much more. The Brit Marling article I referenced at the beginning of this quote is a deeply intelligent and not at all oversimplified look at this issue at large.")

Have these stories caused you to look at your career in a different light or re-evaluate any interactions you've had?

ALLISON JANNEY I'm very fortunate that I have never experienced any kind of harassment, and the only reason I can think of is that I'm 5-foot-15 and my career didn't start till I was like 38. I was always aware of the casting couch — that was just something I thought women had to navigate growing up in the business. But it's exciting to think of a time where kids growing up won't know what that is, that it will be a thing of the past, and there won't be any more abuse of power. It's exciting to think of our culture changing.

SAOIRSE RONAN I was very lucky that I was protected from a lot of that. I never was really exposed to what went on at parties, I was never left on my own with anyone; my mom and dad were always around. The really disappointing thing about all this is that [journalists and others in Hollywood] had all of this shit on all of these men and women for the last few years, but they hadn't done anything with it. It's just been swept under the carpet.

Can the culture of leveraging power and the culture of abuse change?

LAWRENCE I hope eventually. I think it's going to be a while. It's deeply ingrained, unfortunately. It's kind of this social proof in some way of your masculinity.

CHASTAIN Whenever you have one demographic that's in charge of the livelihood of another, you're going to have abuses of power. [To Blige] I'm interested in your point of view on this in terms of being in music, now being in film, and what you're seeing.

MARY J. BLIGE Well, in the [music] industry, I never had that problem. I was always kind of a tomboy and one of the guys. I feel sad for the women, but I'm happy that they're free because they had to hold on to a secret for years. And I believe that things will change because this is making other women say, "Me too," "Me too," "Me too" — it keeps happening every day because people are tired of sitting around with that secret that holds them prisoner. Women have been going through this since they were children. As a child, I went through it all the way up until adulthood. When I got in the music business, I never had it because I went through so much of it in childhood.

CHASTAIN But you said you were a tomboy. Do you think you made that decision to shield yourself from it?

BLIGE I did. Because I've been through so much as a child and a teenager, I just wore baggier jeans and Timberlands and hats turned backward. It took me a very long time to even wear makeup and tight clothes because I had been through so much. And those secrets I still have to deal with. So hopefully these women are free, because it hurts.

STONE I'm someone who holds in a lot and gets really nervous to speak. We have to recognize that there are so many who haven't told their stories yet, who aren't comfortable to share. I feel so much compassion for those who are still getting up and going to work every day with their abuser or have had abuse in their past and who are not ready to say anything. And putting pressure on women to share it, you know, "If you're not saying it now, then you're complicit in this evil that's occurring," isn't fair.

BLIGE A lot of people are not ready. When you're young and you want to be an artist and you want to be an actress, there are people that threaten you to do certain things. And sometimes you [experience] sexual harassment, but you don't know it is.

LAWRENCE Sometimes — I've had this happen: I finally made the decision to stand up for myself, and then I went to go to the bathroom at work and one of the producers stopped me and was like, "You know, we can hear you on the microphone, you've been really unruly." Which was not true, but basically my job was threatened because the director said something fucked up to me and I said, "That's sick, you can't talk to me like that," and then I was punished, and I got afraid that I wasn't going to be hired again.

STONE Yeah, you were "difficult."

LAWRENCE Yeah, I was called difficult and a nightmare. I think a lot of people aren't coming forward because they're afraid they're not going to work again. You need to be able to say, "This is wrong" and have somebody do something about it instead of saying, "Oh, it's wrong? Well, you're fired."

Jason Momoa Bulks Up

Jason Momoa is on the cover of Men's Health Magazine. Here's what he had to say in the accompanying interview:

On learning to play bass:
“Look at this thing, man! This thing is so fuckin’ badass!...There’s a bunch of stuff I want to learn. Instead of waiting around on set all day, I’d rather be learning something cool...I just started learning this. I just can’t sit still, man. There’s too much shit I want to do.”

On buying cool shit:
“This is my Aquaman guitar, dude. I saved a lot of money so I could get this thing. There’s only a hundred of these in the world. I have number nine. I told my wife: one woman, lots of toys!”

On fatherhood:
“I really can’t tell you what the hell I was doing before I had kids. Just fucking off. Wasting time. I think I was pretty reckless and definitely a bit out of control. Now I’m more focused. I probably love myself more and take care of myself more because I want to stick around...When I was 15, I was out of the house; I was gone. Right now I’m just Papa.”

On mentors:
“Sometimes you don’t learn it from your parents. You learn it from your best friends. Instead of just, ‘This is what a man’s supposed to be’ and all the bullshit stuff out there, you can make something really positive. The truth is we’re all searching. We’re all looking for guidance, for mentors, and I’m by no means someone to follow. I’m a degenerate too, you know? I have my ups and my downs like anyone. All I can do is be me.”

On his legacy:
"I want to be remembered as, I hope, an amazing husband and a great father. My kids are my greatest piece of art. If I can pump them full of amazing stuff and surround them with beautiful art and music, then I’m going to live out my life watching them. They’re already way smarter and just way better than me. God, I love it. It’s beautiful. I want it to be the greatest thing I ever do: make good humans.”
