Blind Gossip Exclusive Blind Item - Romance Bubbling Up

These two actors have known each other forever. They have done more than one movie together. They are very, very close.

So close that rumors are bubbling up again that they are romantically involved!

Are they?

No.

"They like each other very much but she claims he has never even tried to kiss her. In fact, she said that if he did, she would likely fall over laughing. She says it is like having a gay brother. She loves him and loves working with him but has never fancied him in the romantic sense."

We’re not sure if that means that she thinks our bachelor actor is gay… or if the thought of having a relationship with him is simply unfathomable to her.

In any case, we know that all this comes as a gigantic disappointment to those fans who have shipped them for many years. Sorry!

Popbitch Blind Item - Secret Ghostwriters

Which TV host and comedian insists that he doesn’t use writers, but quietly encourages any member of staff who comes up with a good joke to write it on a scrap of paper and then slip it into his bag while he’s out of his dressing room (It’s a fruitful way of working. He can sometimes get whole scripts out of what he finds in that bag.)...

Kardashian Korner

The Hollywood Reporter recently did a huge profile on the Kardashians, titled "The Kardashian Decade: How a Sex Tape Led to a Billion-Dollar Brand." Here are some highlights from the long article:

On where everyone was before the show started:
Kris Jenner (star, executive producer): "Before the show, I was managing Bruce's speaking career and personal appearances."

Kim Kardashian (star, executive producer): "I was going to [Pierce College], and after school I would go work the cash register at our store, Dash. This all happened when I was 27 …"

Kendall Jenner (star): "That's so crazy because I'm not even 27. We've lived the same amount of time of the same thing, but I'm not even the age you were when you started."

Ryan Seacrest (executive producer): "Everyone was talking about The Osbournes, and I said to my development executive Eliot [Goldberg], "Let's try to find something in this world and take it to E!""

Kris: "One night, Deena Katz [casting director for Dancing With the Stars] came over for dinner and life was swirling around, and she said, "This is a reality show — I think you should really talk to Ryan Seacrest." So I did."

Seacrest: "Kris told me what she envisioned, and I said, "Let's send a crew to your house and tape some stuff and then we'll take a look at it." Then I realized I didn't have a crew; I didn't even have a camera. I had Eliot buy a camera, and he went and shot them. He called me after and said, "I think we have something special.""

Kourtney Kardashian (star, executive producer): "We had talked to producers about doing a show about the three of us running the store, Dash, where Khloe and I would do the day-to-day, and Kim would come in as a stylist. It didn't go anywhere."

On Caitlyn Jenner's claims that she is actually the one who came up with the show:
Kris: "It's so absurd. I'm not sure what the motivation was for her to say something like that. Maybe somebody should remind her that it's called Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Ted Harbert (then-CEO of E! Networks): "Just like anybody else, I knew of the family through [O.J. Simpson attorney] Robert Kardashian. There was a bit of the stuff with Kim hanging around Paris Hilton and, of course, the fun with Ray J [who made a sex tape with Kim]. That was sort of world news."

On how their level of fame rose throughout filming:
Khloe: "In those days, our first and second season especially, no one knew who we were. We were allowed to leave the gates to film and not have it be a distraction. No one bothered us."

Kim: "When we would travel, I remember people calling mine, Kourtney, and Khloe's names and we thought they knew us from high school or something. We just didn't get it. Then they started chasing us down at the airport. That was the first time that we were like, "Oh my God.""

Khloe: "In Armenia, I've never seen so many people. I got separated from Kim and everyone, and they all got in the van and left. I was like, "Hello? I'm still in the fucking crowd of people!" Everyone forgot about me and Erin Paxton, our audio mixer, took her boom and literally fished me back into our producer's van."

Kendall: "Kylie and I did a magazine signing for Seventeen, and it was at some store at The Grove and we had a crazy line around the corner. The store owner came up to us and said, "Justin Bieber was here a week ago and didn't get this response.""

On Twitter:
Kris: "There was barely Twitter when we started. Ryan called Kim and said, "There's this thing called Twitter you might want to pay attention to." The girls [began] embracing their audience and sharing their lives."

Seacrest: "There were conversations where we said, "Is this OK that posts are happening today and the show airs five months later?" We didn't know if it was good or bad. We ended up determining that it was fueling the narrative and people will want to see what really happened."

Dow: "Kim sort of paved the way for the economic structure of native influencer marketing. Before the rise of the common man YouTuber in their bedroom, you had people like her. She was the one who kicked down the door and got the brands to spend money in that area because she showed success. Brands noticed that when when you would pay a celebrity to send out a branded tweet, they were getting more click-throughs for the dollar, so it made more monetary sense. That's why that revolution started."

On all of the Kardashian spinoffs:
Harbert: "Sometime during the first season, I said, "There are other shows in this family." Being able to get that many franchises from one family is sort of a schedule saver."

Seacrest: "We had a successful mother ship and we thought, "Let's try a spinoff." They were opening a Dash store in Miami, so that gave us a premise [Kourtney & Kim Take Miami]. I got a call from Jeff Shell, who was under Steve Burke at Comcast, which owned E! before the NBC merger. He said, "Should we be investing in spinoffs?" I told him, "I'll take the risk.""

Harbert: "A couple of years in, I said, "Wait until Kylie and Kendall are 18 years old, then there's a whole new generation of shows that can supply the schedule for years." [Life of Kylie premiered Aug. 6 to solid ratings.]"

Kylie Jenner (star): "I feel like I've been hiding myself and my personal life for a really long time, so I thought it was time to do this show and hopefully be a little more understood."

Khloe: "I never wanted to do Khloe & Lamar [which ran for two seasons in 2011 and 2012]; my ex-husband did. He sold it to E!, and I let it happen because I wanted him to be happy. I was the one who canceled it. It was way too much. [Odom was hospitalized in 2015 after being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. The couple divorced in 2016.]"

Jenkins: "We deferred to Khloe on what she was comfortable with, because someone's life was hanging in the balance and that someone is a hero to a lot of young people. It wasn't necessary to go stick a camera in Lamar's face while he's on death's door in the hospital. It's just too much, so I guess, in a way, there is a line."

Blind Gossip Exclusive Blind Item - She Thinks Ancient Is the Problem

These two famous singers teamed up for a project… but she is blaming him for their lack of success!

"They stopped speaking to each other. She blames him for the tepid ticket sales. She thinks that he and his fans are just too old. She says, “I’m contemporary. He’s ancient.” The irony is that she didn’t want to pair up with anyone hotter or younger than her on the tour, so this is what she got!"

Sounds like they are really not enjoying life on the road together. However, contractual obligations mean that they are stuck with each other for the time being!

Ryan Phillippe Is a Work in Progress

Actor Ryan Phillippe recently sat down for an interview with Women's Health Magazine. Here's what he had to say:

What do you sleep in?
"Naked."

Sexiest on a woman: lingerie or naked?
"Naked."

ON WHAT FRIGHTENS HIM:
"Very little. I try to scare myself. I've been on locations where people are like, "Don't go on the fifth floor! It's haunted." I'll be the first one to go to the fifth floor. But the world is chaotic and unpredictable, and there's so much random violence out there. And when you have [teenage kids], there are things you worry about when they're going out. Those would be my fears."

ON BEING A WORK IN PROGRESS:

"I talk to myself quite often. I'm constantly talking things through in my head. I took a trip to Thailand, and I had such an amazing experience. Since then I've been reading a ton of Eastern philosophy about giving up some of the superficial things we're attached to, which I'm trying to do. I also have issues with patience and depression, and I'm thinking about how to focus and steady myself and be kinder and better. Meditation and exercise work for me."

ON OPENING UP ABOUT DEPRESSION:
"I believe that depression and mood disorders are on a spectrum akin to the way autism is, where it's an individual experience. I think people fear being stigmatized or treated in a blanket fashion, which is sometimes the response to someone who says, "I struggle with depression." But really, depression could manifest in a thousand different ways depending on who it is. I don't think there's any reason not to talk about it. We can help each other cope and give tools that we learn along the way."

ON PDA:
"I'm not really a fan. It probably has something to do with the fact that since I was in my early twenties, I've had people watching me wherever I go. So I've become accustomed to behaving a certain way in public."

Lake Bell Finds Her Balance

Lake Bell recently sat down for an interview with Good Housekeeping. Here's what she had to say:

Her go-to mom wisdom:
"My friend's mother told me, "Try really hard to say yes." It sounds like you're going to create a monster, but the idea is that we're constantly saying no, and if you turn things into a positive, everything will be a little kinder."

On aging with confidence:
"Women like my mom have shown me you can be comfortable and confident with aging, and I hope to pass that gift on to my daughter. I also want my son to think women are badass as they get older."

Power outfit:
"I have collected some amazing jumpsuits I'll wear when I'm directing. I can have pockets for my walkietalkie, headset, lip balm and phone and still be chic. My favorite one looks like a flight suit."

Finding "me" time:
"My husband is always reminding me to take care of myself. It's allegedly doable to do what I do, raise two kids and be a good wife, but it takes patience, and you have to be easy on yourself. I'm on a learning curve right now."

Blind Gossip Exclusive Blind Item - Having Your Back

Remember when Sandra Bullock and Jesse James were happily married? When Bullock won a Golden Globe for her work in The Blind Side, she made a moving speech that included the following expression of gratitude to James.

…and to my husband, there is no surprise that my work got better when I met you, because I never knew what it felt like for someone to have my back. So thank you!

Two months later, their marriage broke up when Bullock found out that James was cheating on her with some tattooed lady. Guess he didn’t have her back after all.

Let’s talk about a different celebrity couple, an actor and actress. Their marriage is also over because he didn’t have her back!

Yes, he cheated on her. As disturbing to her as the cheating, though, was the fact that he didn’t have her back when it came to being a parent.

"She always praised him in public for being a great dad, but she said that she was basically a single parent. He thought that having kids was going to be all fun and games, but when it turned out to be so much work, it was just too hard for him. He stayed away more and more and she had to do all the parenting. He basically abandoned them (except for photo ops)."

So now you know what she means when she talks about the importance of being with someone who has your back.

Given that he doesn’t seem to enjoy being a parent, will he ask for custody?

"Yes. His public image is about being a nice guy, not a selfish jerk who doesn’t care about his children. He HAS to ask for custody so he doesn’t look bad!"

This will be interesting. Look for both of them to take more swipes at each other as the divorce and custody discussions proceed!

Blind Gossip Blind Item - The Sports Drink

She is an actress who is known for her starring roles in multiple films as well as a TV series. She has a reputation for being a good mom.

She was preparing some items for her child to take to some sort of athletic practice or game. She took a large bottle of lemon-flavored sports drink, filled up the child’s water bottle, and then stuck the bottle in the freezer for a few minutes while the child got ready.

On their way out the door, the child grabbed the bottle from the freezer. When they were in the car, the child took a swig out of it.

“Mom, this tastes bad.”

Turns out that the child had grabbed Mommy’s nearly identical bottle instead… which was filled with limoncello!

No harm done. This time.

But… why does Mommy keep limoncello in a water bottle?

Chris Hemsworth Answers Random Questions

Chris Hemsworth recently sat down for an interview with Elle Magazine. Here's what he had to say:

Chris Evans told me he has to shave his chest for Captain America. Does Thor shave his chest?
"That's not one of my character-preparing jobs. I've had to wear extensions in my hair. That's where my powers come from."

Do you notice signs of aging onscreen?

"[Laughs] No. I see more the signs of, "We stayed out a bit late that night. Or had a bit too much to drink." [Elsa] has La Mer moisturizer. She's always like, "You gotta put this on." As she begins to look younger and I look older, I'm starting to think she's got a point."

Your mom was an English teacher. What's a book she gave you that made a difference?
"Dr. Seuss's Oh, the Places You'll Go! She gave it to me before I went to Hollywood. It was a book that we used to read a lot as kids, and it's got a profound message about the ups and downs in life. I think she was aware of that kind of unease in me."

You're so sensitive.

"Yeah, mate. I'm quite heady. I spend a lot of time overthinking things. I've always had a sort of Jekyll-and-Hyde way of thinking. One side of me is like, "We're gonna conquer this thing." And the other side is like, "You'll never work again.""

Your wife is Spanish. You've been married for nearly seven years. Is it true you still don't speak the language?
"I speak some Spanish. About 15 words."

Do you ever get the sense that she's talking about you?
"Yes. When I hear my wife and my mother-in-law starting to quietly mumble something, I'll be like, "Guys, guys—I understand more than you think.""

But you don't.
"Of course not."

You once said that Hollywood is "set up to turn you into a complete narcissist." Is that why you moved home?
"Everywhere you look [in L.A.], you're reminded of what you're a part of—or what you're not a part of. And everyone you meet is talking about the same thing all the time."

The business, you mean.

"It's suffocating. It was getting tricky to leave the house because of the paparazzi. I just wanted my kids to have a different life—the outdoors lifestyle and camping and surfing that we had. Not to say you can't get that in California. But I feel if you're an actor, then it's hard to escape it."

Last question: What are you reading?

"I just read a great book called The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, by Mark Manson. It's a counterintuitive approach to happiness. It rang a bell in my head. I give too many fucks about a lot of things. Have a look. [Laughs] It's a gift from me to you."

Outtie Announcement on Restricted Words

Anarchy Gossip has a list of restricted words, meaning that if you use one of them in your comment, your comment will automatically go into moderation to prevent it from posting to the site. However, the restricted words list has made it next to impossible to have a real discussion in Politically Incorrect.

In light of recent events, some words are coming off the "restricted words" list. Please visit Politically Incorrect for a list of those words. I know that those words can give readers a visceral reaction; if you do not want to see them in print, I would advise staying away from Politically Incorrect for a bit.

This is being done with the intention that these words be used in Politically Incorrect ONLY. Unfortunately the moderation tools are not sophisticated enough to allow those words only in that one post, so if they go up in a comment anywhere else on this site, the comment will be removed or edited around the restricted word, in line with the commenting guidelines for the site. If you see a comment that contains one of those words, outside of Politically Incorrect, feel free to flag it for moderation.

Many of you visit Anarchy in Mobile View. The commenting guidelines for the site appear at the bottom of the page in Desktop view, but not in Mobile. Here they are as a reminder:

"There are a few things that are not allowed on Anarchy - Don't tell anyone to die or to kill themselves (or any variation thereof), don't use buzzwords that would feel right at home on an alt-right website, don't dox anyone, and don’t make a comment that is overly offensive/inflammatory in a way not already outlined above. Fundraising and asking people for money is strictly forbidden.

If you accidentally post something that is in violation of those rules, the comment will be deleted - no harm, no foul, no repercussions. If you ever see a post on the site that is in violation of those rules, please flag it for moderation. Occasionally, Disqus will "eat" a comment, which is as frustrating for me as it is for you.

Anarchy Gossip has a list of restricted words, meaning that if you use one of them in your comment, your comment will automatically go into moderation to prevent it from posting to the site. However, the restricted words list has made it next to impossible to have a real discussion in Politically Incorrect as we all try to dance around what happened in Charleston and the President's recent remarks without using those restricted words.

In light of recent events, the following words are coming off the restricted words list: nazi, neo-nazi, kkk, swastika, and Hitler. It is a sad remark on where we are in 2017 that these words even need to be part of a discussion of current events.

If a post is fragrantly offensive, I reserve the right delete the offending comment and to shut down the comment section for this post for the remainder of the day to prevent further comments.
